Alerts

What are Push Notifications?

Push notifications are subscription-based, browser-specific notices that generally appear in the upper-right corner of your computer screen. Once you are signed up, you will be prompted to "Allow" Trade The Halt to send you push notifications. Currently, push notifications work on all MacOS and Windows browsers, and all browsers on Android OS devices. At this time, Apple does not allow push notifications on iOS devices.


What are SMS Alerts?

SMS Alerts are text messages delivered to your phone number. If you are a Professional plan member, you will be able to provide a phone number to receive SMS alerts. (Carrier rates may apply). You can also specify the times of day you wish to receive SMS alerts (there are often trading halts before 5am Eastern!).


Can I control my Alerts?

Absolutely. Every one of our plans offers the ability to turn your alerts on or off. SMS-enabled plans also offer fine-grained controls over what halt alerts you receive.

Billing

How does Billing Work?

Our plans are billed monthly, and will be auto-billed on the same date each month based on your signup date.


How does SMS Billing Work?

Your SMS-alert Plan will come with a set number of SMS alerts (300 for Professional, 800 for Elite) per billing cycle. Once you've reached this number, you will be charged per SMS Alert (2¢ for Professional, 1¢ for Elite). From your Settings screen, you can filter your SMS alerts by price, volume, time of day and more - this will reduce the number of SMS alerts you receive. At any time, you can log in to the Billing screen and view your current usage, past charges, and more.


What Payment Methods are Accepted?

We accept all credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Diners Club, Maestro, JCB, and UnionPay.


How do I Cancel my Subscription?

You can cancel your subscription from your Billing screen. We would love your feedback about why you chose to cancel, so please fill out our very brief offboarding survey.


Can I Fully Delete my Account?

Yes. If you have previously canceled an active subscription, you will have the option to delete your account from the Billing screen. If you delete your account, we wipe all personal information you previously provided to us, and do not retain any of your data.

Market Data

Where do you get your halt data?

We actively monitor the top U.S. exchanges - Nasdaq, NYSE, IEX, and OTC - for trade halts and persistently store this information in our proprietary data stores for fast access & retrieval.


Where do you get your other stock and market data?

Our team of engineers have integrated with leading stock market data providers to obtain millisecond-precision stock price data, detailed company financials, up-to-the-minute news, and other relevant information. We combine this data with our halt data for a powerful toolbox that helps give our members an edge in their trading.


How accurate is your data?

We obtain stock data from several of the most trusted financial data sources in the world. Stock price data for trade halts is generally accurate to the millisecond. Our charting data can range from the last second, the last minute, to a 15-minute delayed stream, depending on the symbol or the exchange. We'll oftentimes fall back on delayed data when real-ltime data is not available.

Privacy & Security

Is it Safe to Provide my Credit Card?

Yes. Our site uses strong SSL security to ensure secure transmission of your credit card information. We use Stripe for our credit card processing and fraud detection. Stripe is one of the most trusted payment platforms out there, and offers full PCI-compliance for the custody of your credit card data.


Is my Personal Information Secure?

All of our member data is encrypted - even phone numbers and Twitter usernames, so you can be assured that your information is safe.
